In the UK, track 6, “Area 51,” has received a wonderful and very complimentary review by the leading music magazine, “Future Music,” with a feature article (Attached to this email for you to read.) and album cover artwork in the “Reader Demos” section. The track is on the cover DVD for the people who buy or subscribe to listen to.The issue (February, No. 197) hit the news agents on the 18th in the UK and I received my subscription copy the same day.It should be available here in a few days or so.Boarders and Barnes and Noble carry it.
When I saw the magazine in the mailbox, my heart started racing and I was so excited I could hardly get the mag out of the plastic envelope. Then I read the review, and read it again, and read it again, and again.I couldn’t believe my eyes! Then I called my producer and read it to him. There was a few seconds of silence, then “Oh my God!This is huge!Read it to me again.”Needless to say, he’s as excited, if not more so, than I am.I still think I’m going to wake up from this wonderful dream.
Also in the UK, the whole album will be reviewed in the next issue of “DJ Magazine.”I don’t have info about the issue date or sources here in the USA.
But, when I find out, I’ll let you all know.
Currently, World-wide, Mister Chill’R’s tracks are being played on the internet radio station, Lounging Sound (www.loungingsound.com).They’re in pretty heavy rotation on their playlist.I can’t tell what it feels like to have your own music playing on Internet radio and coming out of one’s computer speakers.Blows me away!
New Flash!2:15 PM, 26 Jan.I just received a call from Forest of Musical Starstreams Internet Radio (www.starstreams.com).Tracks from "Alien Unfolding" will go into rotation on their playlist next week. Also, they will be heard on his syndicated XM satellite radio station program (USA XM Radio, XM84, 4 PM EST, Saturdays) and on his ambient music show "Radio IO Ambient" (www.radioio.com).This really blows me away!!
Last, but not least, meet “DJ Ancient Alien: The Universe’s Oldest Living DJ.”Yep, my producer is teaching me how to DJ with a laptop to play my tunes and other songs at clubs and music festivals.I’ll dress up in an alien jacket costume with deally bobbers on my head and have a couple of those toy ray guns to fire at the dancers. This ought to be really wild! And fun!Who says you can’t have fun if you’re old!
I am also working on the production (mix down/mastering) of my next album of Chillout tunes. We’re shooting for a release date of early Spring.
On the financial front (I didn’t do this for the money, but it won’t hurt), I’ve sold some tracks over the Internet and several CD’s through CD Baby. Most went people stateside, but two copies went to Moscow, Russia, and a copy went to Cape Town, South Africa! This was before the reviews came out and the airplay began. So, now that the reviews are coming out, who knows?
Glenna says she’s OK with accompanying me in the limos and staying in luxury hotels in exotic places, but ABSOLUTELY NO GROUPIES.She’s no fun.She just doesn’t understand the music business. Not having an entourage and nubile young things hanging around me will destroy my image, don’t cha know. Oh well!
