Hey Brandon,
Thanks for accepting me into your institution. I'm very excited to pursue my dream of becoming a professional DJ. I do have a unique situation which I'd like to discuss. I'm currently a student of University of North Dakota in Grand Forks North Dakota. Like I wrote in my application, I'm taking time off from school to pursue my DJ passion. However, I will be returning to North Dakota at the end of August since that's when fall semester begins. From the tour, I was informed that the DJ mixing course runs for 9 months but I can complete it in less time if I work hard. This is what I currently own... I have two Pioneer CDJ 1000 and a Pioneer DJM 800 Mixer. I went along with the digital turntable instead of the traditional analog turntables since my favorite DJ, Kaskade, uses them. In the near future, I would like to buy a very affordable laptop and a computer program from your recommendation and use it to feed music through my digital turntables onto my mixer then out to the crowd. So my goal is to learn as much as possible in the next few months so that by summer I would be able to play at local clubs in Portland without embarrassing myself or the school. My end goal is to become a resident DJ in Grand Forks, Fargo, or Winnipeg Canada when I return to college. After hearing about your reputation from DJs in Portland, I am fully confident that if I work hard, you can help me achieve my goals. My ultimate question from this e-mail is what class should I register for? I'm not sure if I should sign up for group lessons or one on one? Will a one on one class be more expensive than traditional group lessons? If it is, I would like to discuss about scholarships.
